Do you teach children?I teach anyone 14 years or older. I do not believe that training a younger child is a good choice. The human body doesn't begin to mature for most people until then. Training a voice before it has begun maturing can scar it, and the singer usually learns bad technique in order to create a more "mature" sound. If you have a child younger than 14, and they are interested in singing, have them join a reputible children's chorus. They can learn basic technique without the pressure to sound older than they are.

How long does it take to become a good singer? This is a great question! Good singing can come easily to some, or can be a challenge for others. Your progress depends on your level of commitment. Not everyone can become the next Callas, or Pavarotti, but anyone can become better than they started. If you are willing to commit to a long-term program, and regular practice, you will succeed.

How long do I need to commit to lessons?Lessons will be held during the school year, and I will be holding recitals twice a year. I would prefer you commit to at least half a year with a recital. The minimum requirment for lessons is one month, with weekly 45 minute lessons. Remember, the longer you study, the more you will improve!

Do you teach Musical Theater? It depends. I can help you sing any song you'd like to sing. I do not teach Broadway style belting. The technique I teach is to use your natural voice, and to optimize your sound, while reducing strain.

I don't want to be an Opera singer, should I still take lessons?"I won't make anybody sing an aria. The techniques that I use, will help you with whatever style you'd like to sing, as long as it is a healthy style!
